The idea for Sideworks came about years ago. While working at a car audio shop, and performing a lot of side-work for customers, the idea for a side business came about. After throwing around a bunch of ideas, the name Sideworks seemed to be the best idea, but that business never did happen. We moved out of the car audio business and onto bigger and better things. While one of us moved into the corporate world, the other had many jobs. Gerard has worked as an appliance installer and repair technician, new-home construction, electrician, home theatre technician and mobile fleet installation technician, to simply name a few. I continued to perform side-work for friends and family, and of course kept up on the latest in car audio and 12 volt technology. In late 2005, the idea for Sideworks came up again, but this time not for a Car Audio side business, but for one using all the knowledge gained in our experiences over Gerard's diverse work experience. Tired of seeing lackluster installations and renovations, and clients getting repeatedly treated unfairly, Sideworks Home Maintenance was "formed" as a side business for a few select customers. Jobs were fairly small and some were defiantly not present, but it was extra work, and the customers were happy at the quick resolutions to their issues, and of course, the price. It became apparent after a few months that a side business was just that; a side business. Working a Monday through Friday, 9-5 job as well as performing side work was not only tiring, it was not possible to provide the level of service we promised to the customer. In min-2006 Sideworks Home Maintenance became a full time service for customers, and we have done nothing but grow ever since. If you have never tried us, we urge you to give us a call. We NEVER skimp on the quality of our workmanship, and we tell you exactly what we will be doing, and how much and how long everything will cost.
